Ten Sports snaps up Ligue 1 rights

Ten Sports, owned by pay-television operator Zee, has acquired rights for the Indian subcontinent and territories in South East Asia for Ligue 1, the top division of French football, and the Coupe de la Ligue, the French league cup, for three years, from 2012-13 to 2014-15.

Under the agreement, Ten Sports will show live matches from the league and the cup, as well as a weekly Ligue 1 magazine programme.

The deal was agreed with the MP & Silva agency. Last year, MP & Silva acquired the league’s rights in Asia for six years, from 2012-13 to 2017-18, in a deal with the league’s rights-holders, Qatari pay-television broadcaster Al Jazeera.
