Ten Sports swoops for Asian Games rights

Indian subcontinent pay-television broadcaster Taj Television’s Ten Sports channel has acquired the rights to the 2014 edition of multi-sport event the Asian Games, along with four other events operated by the Olympic Council of Asia governing body.

The MP & Silva agency represented the OCA in negotiations with Ten Sports.

Aside from the 2014 Games in Incheon, the deal includes the 2013 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which are also hosted by the South Korean city, as well as the 2013 Asian Youth Games in Nanjing, China, the 2013 Asian Games Centennial Festival in Boracay, Philippines, and the 2014 Asian Beach Games in Phuket, Thailand.

Incheon 2014 will mark the second time Ten Sports has broadcast the Asian Games following its coverage of the 2010 event in Guangzhou, China.
