Chinese internet company Tencent has acquired rights to the German Bundesliga top-tier club football competition, according to the Yutang Sports news service.
The rights deal will run for three seasons, from 2015-16 through to 2017-18.
Tencent will stream live coverage of 240 Bundesliga matches per season via its Tencent Sports online sports channel.
Subscribers can access coverage via all Tencent Sports platforms, including the channel’s official website and mobile application.
Tencent Sports will also stream highlights of all matches as well as 10 documentary programmes per season.
CCTV 5, the sports channel operated by Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, is the exclusive live rights-holder of three Bundesliga matches per week, with the remaining six games per match week to be shared amongst local channels and online streaming services.
