Tencent Sports reported to have slashed jobs amid tech downturn in China

Tencent Sports, the sports division of Chinese digital media giant Tencent, has scrapped six internal business units and cut 100 jobs - about one third of its workforce - according to local media reports.

The news comes amid wider downsizing at Tencent and other Chinese technology companies, prompted by tough business conditions and tighter regulation by the Chinese government.
