The UK’s Bookmakers Technology Consortium has sealed a rights deal with the Racing Partnership, which represents 22 racecourses across the country.
The consortium brokered the deal on behalf of more than 450 licensed betting offices across the UK. The Racing Partnership represents 15 Arena Racing Company racecourses and seven independent racecourses.
The deal, which covers the UK and Ireland, marks the first time that the horse racing industry has sold its media rights directly to the retail bookmaking industry, according to the Racing Partnership.
The Racing Partnership’s channel, TRP TV, will also begin to show racing from South Africa from September 1.
