The Total Sports Marketing agency has agreed a five-year deal for worldwide media rights to all international matches and domestic tournaments organised by the Afghanistan Cricket Board.
The agreement, which runs from 2018 to 2023, follows a tender process and covers all of Afghanistan’s home matches including the Future Tours Program of the International Cricket Council, bilateral events, multi-lateral events, and ACB’s domestic cricket tournaments – the ShpageezaCricket League and Ghazi Amanullah Khan One-Day Cup.
The partnership will commence with the upcoming three-match Twenty20 series between Afghanistan and Bangladesh scheduled for June 3-7 in Dehradun, India.
The ICC’s annual general meeting in London last year saw Afghanistan and Ireland approved as full members of the global governing body meaning they are now eligible to play Test cricket. Afghanistan’s historic first Test match against India is due to commence on June 14 in Bangalore.
ACB chief executive Shafiqullah Stanikzai said: “This is a great step forward for Afghan cricket in general and the Afghanistan Cricket Board in particular as we aim to take all our matches to audience across the world in this FTP and beyond. TSM has the right credentials and experience to help us achieve this goal.”
