Canadian pay-television sports broadcaster TSN has announced that it will utilise its broadcast coverage of ice hockey’s 2014 World Junior Championship to debut the first live sports usage of the Twitter Amplify platform in Canada.
TSN’s World Juniors Twitter Amplify campaign will offer real-time video highlights on the social media platform when the International Ice Hockey Federation-sanctioned competition begins in Malmo, Sweden on December 26.
TSN’s official Twitter account will share exclusive embedded video content from the biggest moments of the World Juniors, allowing ice hockey fans to access video highlights from the tournament on Twitter. All video tweets will be sponsored by the Canadian division of fast food chain McDonald’s.
TSN’s World Juniors campaign marks the first Twitter Amplify programme delivered by a Bell Media platform since Twitter and Bell announced a partnership earlier this year. TSN is majority-owned by the Bell Media group.
