Canadian pay-television sports broadcaster TSN has signed a multi-year extension to its broadcast rights deal with golf’s US PGA Tour.
The extension means the contract between TSN and the Tour will run through to 2018.
TSN will continue to broadcast nine PGA Tour events each year, as well as providing early round coverage of the 2015 and 2017 Presidents Cups, where the world’s top non-European players compete against the best golfers from the US.
It will also retain the exclusive broadcast rights for the early rounds of the Canadian Open. In addition, it will broadcast This Is PGA Tour Canada, a new television series covering the 2013 PGA Tour Canada season.
The extension will complement TSN’s extensive live golf coverage, which includes the broadcasting rights to all the sport’s majors – The Masters, US Open, Open Championship and PGA Championship – in addition to coverage of the Ryder Cup.
