Dutch pay-television sports broadcaster Sport1 has acquired rights for the Süper Lig, the top football division in Turkey.
Sport1 will show weekly highlights of the competition every Monday. The rights do not include live coverage of games.
Sport1 vice-president Will Moerer said that the presence of Dutch footballers in the Turkish league would raise interest in the tournament, with Wesley Sneijder playing at Galatasaray and Dirk Kuyt playing at Fenerbahce.
Lig TV, the football channel dedicated to the league and operated by Turkish pay-television operator Digiturk, was available in the Netherlands on pay-television platform Ziggo until a carriage dispute curtailed the agreement three weeks ago.
