Norwegian commercial and pay-television broadcaster TV2 has said it will launch a new sports channel in August.
Entitled TV 2 Sport, the new channel will provide over 1,000 hours of live content.
TV 2 Sport will provide a home for the broadcaster’s football rights portfolio and will show matches from club competitions the Uefa Champions League and Europa League, along with the English Premier League.
National team matches from Uefa’s qualifying campaigns for the World Cup and European Championships will also be showcased, along with the Nations League.
TV 2 Sport will also focus on cycling content by offering International Cycling Union (UCI) championships and ‘Grand Tour’ event the Vuelta a España.
TV 2 Sport will also follow Norwegian handball closely, by covering national team matches and domestic competitions.
