TVB snaps up European Games rights

Hong Kong commercial broadcaster TVB has acquired exclusive rights in the territory for coverage of the 2015 European Games multi-sport event in Baku, Azerbaijan.

TVB has secured free-to-air and pay-television rights in Hong Kong.

The channel, which is available in all 2.4 million households in Hong Kong, recently struck a deal to broadcast the 2016 summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The inaugural European Games will run from June 12-28.

Organisers have agreed a total of 56 rights deals for the Games so far.
