The International Cycling Union (UCI) and marketing partner the Infront Sports & Media agency have said the forthcoming Road World Championships will receive an “unprecedented level” of television coverage, including exposure for the first time in Middle Eastern, South American and Israeli markets.
The annual event will be held in Florence, Italy from September 22-29 and the two organisations said the number of license holders, as well as guaranteed broadcast visibility, is higher than for any previous championships.
Infront and the UCI have licensed international media rights for the event to around 30 television networks.
The championships will be afforded coverage for the first time in the Middle East, Israel and South America courtesy of deals with pay-television broadcasters Al Jazeera, Charlton and DirecTV, respectively.
