Uefa set to unveil CAA Constellation on October 1

Uefa, European football’s governing body, is expected to confirm on October 1 that the newly-created company CAA Constellation has won the contract to sell the European Qualifiers package of rights for four years, from 2014-15 to 2017-18.

The announcement is expected to be made at the Uefa executive committee meeting in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg on October 1, when the governing body has said it will provide an update on the centralisation of media rights for the four-year period.

As first reported by TV Sports Markets on September 14, the deal with CAA Constellation is also expected to include the unsold media and marketing rights for the Euro 2016 competition.

CAA Constellation was formed by the Creative Artists Agency in partnership with Stéphane Schindler and Olivier Guiguet, who are former executives at the Lagardère Unlimited sports marketing division of media conglomerate Lagardère.

The two rival bidders for the contract, the Sportfive and IMG Media agencies, have already been informed that CAA Constellation has won.
