Canadian pay-television broadcaster Rogers Sportsnet renewed it rights deal with Uefa, European football’s governing body, for the Champions League, for three years, from 2012-13 to 2014-15.
Sportsnet’s acquisition concludes the sales of Uefa Champions League rights in the Americas.
The broadcaster will show live coverage of three matches per match night across the Sportsnet, Sportsnet One and Sportsnet World bouquet of channels. A weekly highlights programme will also be shown on Sportsnet One.
The deal, brokered by the Team Marketing agency, includes mobile and internet rights. The Uefa Europa League rights in Canada are yet to be awarded, though an announcement is expected soon.
