UFC signs new Australian rights partner

Australian IPTV provider Fetch TV has acquired rights to the Ultimate Fighting Championship mixed martial arts series.

The partnership, the length of which was not disclosed, names Fetch as the official broadcaster of the UFC in Australia.

The first event of the partnership will be 'UFC 214: Cormier vs. Jones 2' on Sunday. The event will take place in Anaheim in the US state of California and will be available on a pay-per-view basis via Fetch.

Fetch’s coverage of the series will include live UFC event access and over 150 hours of studio programming.

Fetch will offer subscribers access to numbered UFC pay-per-view events at Aus$49.99 (€34/$40) per event.

UFC Fight Night events and preliminary bouts to numbered pay-per-view events will be offered through Fetch TV’s EDGEsport channel.

The UFC also holds a rights partnership with Australian pay-television broadcaster Foxtel.
