The World Baseball Softball Confederation has awarded host broadcast rights for the 2018 Women’s Baseball World Cup to the United States Speciality Sports Association, a non-profit sports organisation based in Florida.
The USSSA will produce coverage of all 50 games – a record for the tournament, as well as in-game commentary services and highlights packages.
The eighth edition of the Women's Baseball World Cup will be staged at the USSSA Space Coast Complex in Florida from August 22-31. It will be the first time that the tournament has taken place in the US.
The USSSA’s acting chief executive, Don DeDonatis III, said: “The Women's Baseball World Cup represents our biggest production operation to date.”
The USSSA will use at least five cameras for every game, before expanding to at least seven for the Super Round and Finals.
The most recent edition of the competition took place in Gijang, South Korea and reached a cumulative audience of approximately 100 million households across 198 countries and territories.
