Pay-television broadcaster beIN Sport, which is owned by Qatari pay-television broadcaster Al Jazeera, has secured a carriage deal in the US with IPTV operator Verizon FiOS TV.
The beIN Sport HD and Spanish-language beIN Sport en Español HD channels are now available to FiOS TV customers in Florida, Texas, California and Pittsburgh, and will be available to all markets in the US by the middle of April.
BeIN Sport HD has been added to FiOS TV’s Ultimate HD package, while beIN Sport en Español HD will be available through Verizon’s La Conexion and Spanish-language TV packages.
“To be a part of FiOS TV is another significant milestone,” beIN Sport managing director Yousef Al Obaidly said.
BeIN Sport launched in the US last year, and the broadcaster also has carriage deals in the country with the DirecTV, Dish, Comcast Xfinity, Time Warner Cable, Bright House Network, Advanced Cable Communications and Liberty Cablevision pay-television operators.
