Croatian telecommunications company Vipnet has acquired domestic rights to the Uefa Champions League club football competition.
The three-season deal will run from 2018-19 to 2020-21 and grants Vipnet exclusive rights with the exception of one match per game week, which will be sublicensed to free-to-air television.
Champions League games will be available on all Vipnet platforms – Vip Sat TV, IPTV and cable – along with the Vip Now streaming service for mobile phones and tablet devices.
Vipnet has also acquired archive rights to all Champions League games played since 2009.
Vipnet chief executive Jiri Dvorjancansky said: “Exclusive rights to the Uefa Champions League are the highlight of the TV offer and the trigger for TV provider selection and that is why I am extremely proud to offer viewers the most watched football competition.
“Combined with continuous investments in the latest mobile and fixed infrastructure, we are committed to retaining Vipnet’s position as the telecom operator with the best customer satisfaction.”
