World Combat Games offered exposure via smart television

White label smart television portal provider NetRange has agreed a rights deal with the IEC in Sports agency for the 2013 World Combat Games.

The deal comprises worldwide smart television rights for the Games, excluding Brazil, Canada, France, Mexico, Russia and the US.

NetRange will provide live coverage of judo, sumo, karate, aikido, kickboxing, wrestling and various other disciplines during the Games, as well as daily highlights and replays of certain events from previous days.

On-demand content will be regularly supplemented with fresh highlights throughout the Games.

Jan Wendt, chief executive of NetRange, said: “Live streaming of the World Combat Games demonstrates the beauty of Smart TV. This is a successful example of how sports events which have been unable to secure classic TV exposure can still be made available for passionate fans on Smart TV.”

The World Combat Games commenced on October 18 in Saint Petersburg, Russia and will conclude on October 26.
