World Snooker has announced that it will extend its event coverage partnership with social media platform Facebook to cover Pakistan.
For the first time, extensive live coverage of a wide range of events on the World Snooker Tour will be available in Pakistan, starting with next week’s English Open, which runs from October 14-20.
The free Facebook Live coverage will include Home Nations and Triple Crown tournaments, plus certain events from the Coral Series and BetVictor Series throughout the 2019-20 season.
The latest agreement comes after World Snooker announced last week that a number of its major events will this season be streamed free to fans in India via Facebook Live.
A spokesman for World Snooker said: “We are very pleased to extend this opportunity to fans in Pakistan as well as India. We know we have a huge following throughout Pakistan and by giving them the chance to watch snooker live and free on Facebook we will grow our sport in the region.”
Englishman Stuart Bingham won last season’s English Open.
