WRC strikes US rights deals with Eleven, ESPN

The World Rally Championship motorsport series has agreed rights deals in the United States with international sports broadcasters Eleven Sports and ESPN.

Under the agreement, all remaining rallies in the 2017 season will be shown live on Eleven Sports. Eleven, which becomes WRC’s exclusive pay-television partner in the US, will also show the championship’s pre-event magazine programme ahead of every round.

ESPN has acquired exclusive digital rights for live WRC action and will also show mid- and end-of season review programmes as well as event highlights. ESPN will provide the coverage through its ESPN3 digital service.

The deals, brokered by the Sportsman Media Group agency, have been announced ahead of the sixth round of the 13-event calendar. The Rally de Portugal runs from May 18-21.
