The World Touring Car Championship has taken down the paywall for its WTCC Premium TV service for the remainder of the 2016 campaign.
In April, Eurosport Events, the championship’s promoter, launched the subscription service for mobile and online platforms.
WTCC Premium TV offers live coverage of all on-track action, special features such as a time-shift rewind function and live pause, no geo-blocking and archive footage from the previous two WTCC seasons. Users can also choose to view live action from 10 on-board cameras.
WTCC Premium TV was launched with a price tag of €14.95 ($17) for one weekend or €99.95 for the season.
The championship did not elaborate on the reason why the service would be available free of charge for the remainder of the campaign.
