It has been revealed today that International Amateur Boxing Federation head CK Wu will officially announce his candidacy for International Olympic Committee (IOC) president.
Wu’s office in Taipei has confirmed the 66-year-old’s intentions to bid, and that there will be a press conference on Thursday.
The Taiwanese boxing chief will join IOC vice-presidents Thomas Bach and Ng Ser Miang who have formerly entered the race to succeed IOC president Jacques Rogge.
The deadline for candidate submissions is June 10, before elections take place on September 10 in Buenos Aires.
