English cricket’s governing body, the England & Wales Cricket Board, has signed a deal with video-sharing website YouTube to live stream the forthcoming Ashes series against Australia in 53 countries across Europe and Latin America.
The ECB’s official YouTube channel will host live streaming of the scheduled 25 days’ play, along with one-minute highlights of every session, beginning at 11am BST with Wednesday’s first Test at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
The Ashes sit alongside a host of content on the ECB’s YouTube platform, where fans can enjoy highlights of all home international matches as well as England’s three domestic county competitions. The page has surpassed 1.5m views in 2013.
David Collier, chief executive of the ECB, said: “This is the ECB's first venture into live streaming of cricket online, so is ground-breaking territory for us.”
