Football: Spanish commercial broadcaster Cuatro and digital satellite operator Digital Plus, both owned by media group Sogecable, acquired the rights for Euro 2008 from Uefa, in a deal brokered by the Sportfive agency. Cuatro will show 19 matches live, including the opening match, the final and all matches involving the Spanish national team. Sogecable outbid public-service broadcaster RTVE and Forta, the consortium of regional public-service broadcasters, as well as rival commercial channel La Sexta.
