Football: German public-service broadcasters ARD and ZDF are set to sub-license the live rights for German football’s cup competition to pay-operator Premiere. ARD and ZDF acquired the rights as part of a wider deal with the German football association which also covered the national team’s matches. Under the sub-licensing deal, ARD and ZDF will retain highlights rights and the right to televise one live match from each round. Premiere will acquire the live rights for all matches from the second round onwards.
