African Games receive Olympic Channel showcase

The Olympic Channel, the International Olympic Committee’s OTT platform, will provide more than 17 hours of coverage from the 2019 African Games, the multi-sport event underway in Rabat, Morocco.

The coverage on olympicchannel.com and associated mobile apps began with live streaming of yesterday’s (Monday’s) opening ceremony.

In addition to the opening ceremony, the Olympic Channel will stream daily highlights from the 12th edition of the Games, which this year is offering qualification opportunities for the 2020 summer Olympic Games in Tokyo. Coverage concludes on August 31 with live streaming of the event’s closing ceremony.

The Olympic Channel has this year provided coverage of fellow continental multi-sport events the Pacific Games, European Games and Pan American Games. It also covered the inaugural African Beach Games, which took place in Sal, Cape Verde from June 14-23.

Over 280 hours of content from Lima’s recent Pan American Games was shown on the Olympic Channel.
