Astro maintains hold on Champions League in Malaysia

Malaysian pay-television operator Astro has retained its broadcast rights to the Uefa Champions League club football competition in Malaysia and Brunei.

Astro, whose current contract spans the 2012-13 to 2014-15 seasons of the showpiece club tournament of European football’s governing body, has agreed a new three-year deal for the campaigns encompassing 2015-16 to 2017-18.

The contract also includes rights to four editions of the Super Cup, the annual game between the Champions League and Europa League victors, from 2015 to 2018.

The deal was brokered by Team Marketing, Uefa’s exclusive marketing agency for the exploitation of certain media and commercial rights relating to its club competitions.
