Malaysian pay-television broadcaster Astro has extended its rights deal for the Premier League, the top division of English club football.
Astro will cover the Premier League for the next three seasons, from 2016-17 to 2018-19. Astro is the league’s incumbent broadcast partner in Malaysia in the current 2013-14 to 2015-16 cycle.
Astro will provide all 380 games per season live on Astro TV, along with via all mobile devices via its Astro on the Go service.
Henry Tan, chief operating officer of Astro, said: “Astro has strengthened its position as the home of sports and the unrivalled choice for sports fans by winning the rights to all Premier League matches for the seasons from 2016-17 to 2018-19.
“Sport fans can look forward to a major sporting year with a comprehensive line-up of live sports events such as Uefa Euro 2016, Rio 2016 Olympics and (badminton’s) Thomas & Uber Cup 2016 on Astro TV and AOTG.”
