Pay-television broadcaster At The Races and news and sports coverage provider SIS have retained the rights to Irish horse racing after agreeing an extended deal with Horse Racing Ireland and the Association of Irish Racecourses.
The new deal will run from January 2014 to December 2016.
At The Races will have exclusive, cross-platform non-licensed betting offices media rights to all Irish fixtures on a global basis. The broadcaster has also offered a seat on its board to HRI and AIR.
SIS retains all domestic and international betting shop rights until 2016 under the terms of its current deal with HRI.
Matthew Imi, chief executive of At The Races, said: “HRI and AIR made it very clear that not only did they feel At The Races had done a great job monetising their rights across our current distribution platforms, but that they were also excited about the long-term potential of the business and we look forward to welcoming their representative on to the ATR board as we start to roll out our growth strategy.”
