Spanish commercial broadcaster Atresmedia has agreed a two-year rights deal, covering the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons, for the Copa del Rey domestic knockout football competition.
Under the terms of the deal struck with the Mediapro agency, Atresmedia-operated channel La Sexta and fellow commercial broadcaster Antena 3 will broadcast all rounds of the Copa del Rey apart from the final, whose rights are held by public-service broadcaster TVE.
Atresmedia has also acquired internet and mobile rights to the Copa del Rey and will launch a dedicated website, which will provide live streaming of games.
Atresmedia last week agreed a two-year deal to broadcast the Liga Adelante, the second division of Spanish football. Under the terms of that deal, which also covers the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons, La Sexta will televise two games per week from the league.
