Basketball Champions League signs deal to enhance video content provision

The Basketball Champions League has partnered with sports video technology company WSC Sports Technologies to improve its video content provision.

The two parties will collaborate on pre- and post-game coverage, with the content to be showcased across the league’s digital channels.

WSC’s sports video technology will be used to create customised highlights packages for every player, team and highlight from the European club tournament, which began its inaugural season last month.

The BCL said the content will serve as a major promotional platform for broadcast partners who will see their brand featured in all clips distributed to teams and players.

“Our aim is to provide fans with customised content at a scale never seen before in similar European competitions,” BCL chief executive Patrick Comninos said.

“As Basketball Champions League fans’ demand for video on digital and social platforms continues to grow, WSC’s technology will give us the tools to meet that demand and bring our competition to the highest level of an ever-growing digital offer.

“We also hope that this unlimited, high quality inventory of digital content will ultimately drive more fans to watch our games on TV.”
