German Bundesliga football club Bayern Munich has agreed a global media partnership with US internet company Yahoo.
Terms of the deal with Yahoo Sports were not disclosed but it will result in Bayern syndicating its original video and editorial content to be programmed strategically and cross-promoted across the Yahoo network, with a focus on key markets such as the US, Latin America and Central Europe.
The partnership will include the syndication of Bayern’s editorial and video content for programming in English, Spanish and German, across Yahoo Sports.
In addition, Yahoo will also provide original Bayern content to its audience, such as player interviews and features. The content will be available across Yahoo’s English, Spanish and German-language platforms.
Gunther Picker, head of editorial in the EMEA region for Yahoo, said: “Soccer is a huge focus for Yahoo. With FC Bayern Munich, we were able to get one of the most internationally-renowned sports teams on board, and through this partnership, we are able to expand our premium content offering.”
