UK public-service broadcaster the BBC has extended a rights agreement for the World Indoor Bowls Championships.
The new deal covers the next three editions of the event until 2021 and extends the BBC’s 39-year relationship with the tournament, which is organised by the World Bowls Tour.
The BBC broadcast 60 hours of this year’s event, which concluded yesterday (Sunday), across its television, red button and online services.
"This is very important for our sport and I am highly pleased that BBC Sport have continued with their support for this blue riband event," World Bowls Tour chief executive Richard Maddieson said.
"The new deal will help our sport to continue to develop over the coming years."
The event has been held at Potters Resort in Norfolk since 1999 and a new agreement has been reached for the English venue to continue staging the tournament for the next three years until 2021.
