Qatar-headquartered pay-television broadcaster beIN has acquired the exclusive rights to the 2020 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season across the Middle East and North Africa, and Asia Pacific.
The platform-neutral deal stretches across 35 territories (24 in Mena, 11 in Apac) and includes all 18 races from this season.
The DTM season is scheduled to begin on August 1, running for three months before the final race on 8 November. It was set to start in July, though the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic delayed its beginning.
This coming season will not, however, be broadcast in Saudi Arabia despite the kingdom being included as one of the 24 Mena territories.
In mid-July, Saudi competition authority cancelled beIN’s broadcast license in the kingdom in the latest spat in the ongoing dispute between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
