BeIN Media Group has claimed the “most ambitious” football offering in the Spanish market after agreeing a carriage deal for its OTT service with the Movistar Partidazo pay-television channel of telco Telefónica.
The addition of Movistar Partidazo will allow beIN Connect to provide its customers with the best matches of the week from LaLiga, the top division of domestic football.
Through the deal, terms of which were undisclosed, beIN Connect becomes the only standalone OTT platform in Spain to deliver all competitions in which Spanish teams play – LaLiga, Segunda Division, Copa del Rey, Uefa Champions League and Europa League.
Movistar Partidazo will be provided at no extra charge throughout January to beIN Connect customers who subscribed before December 31. From February, the full service will now cost €16.99 ($20) per month.
However, beIN added that its basic package, without Movistar Partidazo, will still be available for €9.99 per month.
