BeIN Media Group aces WTA rights

BeIN Media Group has acquired rights for events operated by the Women’s Tennis Association in a multi-territory deal.

The agreement will run for five years, from 2017 to 2021.

The rights include live and delayed coverage of every tournament, including the 21 top-tier Premier competitions, as well as highlights and weekly WTA magazine programmes.

The agreement covers more than 30 territories worldwide, including Australia, the Middle East, North Africa, Spain and the US.

The deal ties in with the start of the WTA's new partnership with digital sports media company Perform, which has established WTA Media, the tour's dedicated media arm.
