Pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports has extended a rights deal in the US for the English Championship second-tier club football competition.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but according to the Worldsoccertalk.com website, the agreement covers the 2017-18 season, which kicks off on Friday.
BeIN Sports will broadcast live coverage of an average of three or four matches each weekend during the Championship season.
BeIN Sports will begin coverage of the 2017-18 campaign by broadcasting the opening game of the 2017-18 season between Sunderland and Derby County on August 4. The game will be shown live on the beIN Sports Connect digital platform and via over-the-top streaming service fuboTV.
BeIN Sports will also show coverage of Fulham’s match against Norwich and Aston Villa’s game with Hull City on Saturday, as well as the match between Bolton Wanderers and Leeds United on Sunday.
