Pay-TV broadcaster beIN Media Group has said that it has settled its latest rights fee “obligations” to LaLiga “as scheduled” in the wake of the Spanish league’s move to secure a court order in a dispute over payment rescheduling.
LaLiga was granted a temporary injunction on October 10 to seize beIN’s assets worth up to €50.7m ($50.5m). In its application to the Madrid court, it was claimed by LaLiga that it was contractually agreed that 33 per cent of beIN’s due rights fees for the 2022-23 season would be settled by August 15.
