French pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports will from today (Tuesday) devote one of its overflow channels exclusively to archive content from the National Basketball League.
It will show NBA content 24/7 on its beIN Sports Max 4 channel until the resumption of the championship, which has been suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Fans will be able to watch a selection of NBA matches from the beginning of the season and also iconic archive clashes, including the 2014 NBA Finals featuring Tony Parker’s San Antonio Spurs against LeBron James’ Miami Heat.
The channel will be available to subscribers of beIN Sports and the beIN Sports Connect streaming service.
BeIN Sports holds the exclusive rights in France to the NBA in a four-season deal that expires at the end of this season. It has held the NBA rights since in 2012.
Sports broadcasters across the world have struggled for content since the suspension of virtually all live sports events as a result of the pandemic.
BeIN is already showing archive content from the French football league, alongside its co-incumbent Canal Plus, allowing it to broadcast all Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 matches from the last ten seasons, including 2019-20.
