Bellator MMA series expands reach

New rights deals for the Bellator mixed martial arts series have been agreed in Australia, Croatia, Italy, Portugal and Spain, while contracts have also been extended in a number of other territories.

The deals were brokered by production firm Electus, a division of media company IAC.

Commercial broadcasters Ten and SIC acquired rights in Australia and Portugal, respectively, while pay-television broadcasters Discovery and 15 TV acquired rights in Italy and Croatia.

Electus also confirmed that international pay-television broadcaster RTL9, which was unveiled as a new rights partner for the series in January, will provide coverage in France.

Deals have also been renewed with Brazilian commercial broadcaster Esporte Interativo, media companies Celestial Tiger Entertainment and Ananey in Hong Kong and Israel, and with pay-television broadcasters NC Plus in Poland, Fox Sports in Latin America, R2 in Russia, OSN in the Middle East and Sky New Zealand.

The series can now be seen in more than 400 million homes worldwide in over 120 countries.
