The Bolivian Football Federation is progressing with its media-rights sales process for the country’s top-tier football league, launching an invitation to tender process.
The ITT for the collective media rights was set to be issued yesterday (Sunday) and would be open to international bids, according to Bolivian news source Página Siete.
The winning bidder will take on the rights from the 2021 season onwards as the FBF targets the doubling of the current media-rights income.
The Sport TV Rights agency currently holds the exclusive rights to the Primera División and is reported to be paying $4.1m (€3.7m) per season. It had previously been reported that the FBF received an offer from Mexican agency Sports Marketing Monterrey totalling $50m for the exclusive rights between 2021 and 2024.
A handful of the Primera División’s more successful clubs have been considering selling their rights individually with Club Bolivar – the nation’s most successful domestic side – the most prominent among them.
