UK pay-television channel Box Nation acquired the rights for the boxing re-match between Bernard Hopkins and Chad Dawson for the WBC light-heavyweight title in Atlantic City, the US on April 28.
The first fight between the two, which took place in October last year, ended in controversial circumstances in the second round. Dawson pushed Hopkins to the canvas, causing Hopkins to withdraw with a shoulder injury. Dawson was initially awarded the victory but the decision was later changed to a ‘no contest’.
Box Nation also acquired rights to Mexican boxer Abner Mares’ fight against an as yet unnamed opponent on April 21.
