UK pay-television broadcasters At The Races, Racing UK and Sky have all secured rights to this year’s edition of the Breeders’ Cup US horse racing event.
At The Races will broadcast live coverage of each Breeders’ Cup World Championships race this year, including the showpiece Breeders’ Cup Classic.
The channel will mix its own live studio production with full coverage from the NBC Sports Group division of US media company NBCUniversal.
Sky Sports will also use NBC coverage for its own studio presentation, which will include news, build-up and live race action for one hour before the Breeders’ Cup Classic.
Meanwhile, Racing UK will show Breeders’ Cup World Championships races live in a special free-to-air broadcast.
Racing UK will use NBC Sports coverage to show all four of the Championships' races on day one, as well as nine races on the second day.
However, Racing UK will not show the Breeders’ Cup Classic race due to what the broadcaster has described as “contractual obligations.”
The 2017 Breeders’ Cup will take place on November 3-4.
