UK broadband operator BT Vision, owned by former state telco BT, has acquired rights for the French Top 14, the top-tier domestic rugby union competition in France, according to the Daily Mail newspaper.
The acquisition is BT Vision’s first sports-rights deal since its won live rights to the English Premier League from next season.
The broadband operator does not currently have its own sport channel but is in the process of appointing a production partner for the Premier League, recently putting the contract out to tender.
