C More Entertainment, the premium pay-television arm of Swedish commercial and pay-television broadcaster TV4 Group, has acquired rights for the Elitserien, the top division of ice hockey in Sweden.
The deal will run for four seasons, from 2014-15 to 2017-18, and covers all platforms.
C More acquired rights for all of the division’s games, including the end-of-season finals, in an agreement with Svenska Hockeyligan, the Swedish hockey league.
“The Elitserien has long been a cornerstone of our sports offering, and we are naturally delighted to have secured pay-television rights for many years to come,” Johan Kleberg, the chief executive of C More Entertainment and TV4’s head of sports acquisitions, said. “After the structural review of TV4’s sports rights in the autumn, we are now clear about the long-term value of big rights across our various channels.”
C More already has rights for the 2013-14 Elitserien season under an existing deal.
