Canal F1 Latin America enhances exposure ahead of Mexican GP’s return

The Mediapro agency has expanded the reach of its Formula One channel in Mexico ahead of the return of the motor racing championship to the country by agreeing a carriage deal with pay-television provider Axtel.

Mediapro launched Canal F1 Latin America throughout the region on March 1, ahead of the start of the 2015 season of the motor racing championship.

The channel will now be available for Axtel’s subscribers in Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Puebla, Queretaro, San Luis Potosi, Aguascalientes, Toluca, Ciudad Juarez and Leon. Canal F1 Latin America is already broadcast in Mexico via Totalplay and Televisa’s Izzi Telecom and Sky platforms.

F1 returns to Mexico later this month after over two decades away. The Mexican Grand Prix at the revamped Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City will be held from October 30 to November 1.

Canal F1 Latin America is available via pay-television platforms throughout the region, with the exception of Brazil.

Mediapro in March 2014 acquired rights to the motor racing championship across Central and Latin America and the Caribbean. The exclusive deal, which excluded Brazil, runs for five years, from 2015 to 2019.
