Canal F1 Latin America widens exposure in Mexico

The Mediapro agency has widened the reach of its Canal F1 Latin America channel by agreeing a new carriage deal with Mexican pay-television operator Megacable.

The third largest operator in the country, Megacable has added the motorsport channel to its basic content package.

Canal F1 Latin America’s showpiece property is the Formula One motor racing championship, but the platform also offers the Formula Two, GP3 and Porsche Super Cup series.

Mediapro launched Canal F1 Latin America ahead of the start of the 2015 Formula One season. Canal F1 Latin America is available via pay-television platforms throughout the region, with the exception of Brazil.

Mediapro already holds Mexican carriage deals with Televisa’s Sky and Izzi, Axtel and Totalplay.

Mediapro in March 2014 acquired rights to Formula One across Central and Latin America and the Caribbean. The exclusive deal, which excluded Brazil, runs for five years, from 2015 to 2019.
