French pay-television broadcaster Canal Plus has launched a tender to sublicense rights for the next three editions of the Uefa Champions League final, in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Canal Plus launched the tender for the final of European football’s top club competition on Monday, according to French newspaper l’Équipe.
The deadline for bids is December 18.
Canal Plus will only be able to sublicense rights to a free-to-air broadcaster as the match is covered by government legislation that blocks pay-television broadcasters from showing certain events of public interest on an exclusive basis.
