Czech public-service broadcaster Česká Televize has secured a package of rights to competitions organised by Uefa, football’s European governing body.
Česká Televize said it has secured rights to the Europa League club tournament for the three seasons spanning 2018-19 to 2020-21.
Česká Televize will share the rights with commercial and pay-television broadcaster Nova, which earlier this month extended its rights deal in the Czech Republic and Slovakia across the same three-season window.
Nova said it would broadcast at least four games per match day, adding that the Europa League is one of the “pillars” of its broadcast schedule due to Czech clubs regularly progressing to the knockout stages of the competition.
Elsewhere, Česká Televize has confirmed it will broadcast the Euro 2020 national team tournament, which will be staged in 12 different European cities, along with first- and second-party European qualifier matches for Euro 2020 and the 2022 Fifa World Cup, and Nations League matches.
The Nations League, which will take place for the first time in 2018-19, has been introduced to replace traditional friendly matches in Europe, with all 55 teams under the Uefa umbrella to take part.
